Is the webbing of your hand rested directly under the beavertail? Those that don't like the grip/finger grooves result from improper holding the frame.
I love the finger grooves and Glock frame. It's a firearm, it doesn't have to fit every need but do its job.
I bought my first Glock in 1988 it was a 17L 3.5 trigger. I had Glock bring it up to snuff a while back. It is my favorite it shoots really well and I like its grip.
I am an expert shot, I like many pistols, I have seen others that have been helped by the newer design, they still are not as good a shot as I am, don't need them to assist me.
The thing about the 17L is, it is a 9mm I like more powerful ammo and for that job I go for the Mdl 21 with numerous barrels to provide that assist. 10mm 45 and 400 Corbon. If I want more I go to other hand guns. My 44 Mag has after market grips and have some finger groves...
I was thinking of getting some hogue wrap arounds when shooting the 10mm and the 400 Corbon for they both shoot higher impact with the same hold as the 45 acp, has to do with lots more than the grip. Someone has said they slip around. I like the mdl 22 in 40 cal and 357 Sig, early/older model there also.
