I am buying the Lone Wolf .40 barrel for my G23, thats because I reload and have seen first hand the "bulge" on the case because of the unsupported area of the Glock barrel. The .40 is a high pressure case and almost any flaw such as repeated high pressure loadings can cause a case rupture. But as for a defensive posture I prefer a .40 or a 10mm over the 9mm.
I've had both barrels side by side and looked at them. You might be surprised about the 'unsupported' myth. The Lone Wolf barrel does have a tighter chamber than the OEM Glock though.
