Why is the Marlin 60 so accurate?

Had two of em, got one in the 70's I bought with a twenty dollar bill, it shot tens of thousands or rounds before I traded it, and the present one I got for $50 at a yard sale, both shot great.
Shawnee may have something about the fit of the stock or barrel of the 60 etc. at least for me. I find it easier and faster to knock shotgun shells etc. around at 40 or so yards with it than any other of the dozen or so 22's I own including one of, if not my favorite, a 39A. Just something about the Model 60, I have no idea for sure what, that makes it easy to be accurate with, at least for me.

Is the Model 60 the same as the Marlin/Glenfield Model 75? Mine looks like the posted picture only with a shorter magazine and sling swivels.

Thanks for all the post's.My first gun was a Marlin 60 that my father bought for me after I passed my hunter's safety it course when I was 12.I pawned it when I was 18 cause I feel on hard times and I was unable to get it out.I feel very bad about it now because my father passed away two years ago.It had a synthetic stock and truglo sights on it.I was thinking of getting a 10/22(for all the cool add on's)or a Remington 597,but after I picked up the model 60 last Friday,I felt like I was 12 again when my father gave it to me after my hunter safety certificate came in the mail(I had to prove too him that I was responsible). My first Marlin 60 took a lot of squirrels,Pheasant,(I lived a few miles from a Pheasant farm, they where all over the place)and many of other critters.I feel like there is no better .22 for a beginner or a novice in my opinion.I love it!!
