I have purchased many handguns from many different local gun stores. My first few purchases ended up in delays. I then got my UPIN and have had no delays since. I have bought up to 7 different guns in one store, 7 from another store, and maybe 5 in another store. I always walk out the store with my new purchases. Then I tried this new store. I bought a transferred firearm fom Buds about a month ago and I had to go back hours after to pick it because of a delay. I just came from that same store 2 hours ago to transfer another Buds long gun to me - also a delay. I just called them to find out if they called back or if NCIS called back. They told me that they wait up to 24 hours before NCIS calls. I was only the one with delays, there were at least 3 other on the delayed status.
I am obviously impatient, but I was wondering, does NCIS have preferences to stores, do store employees do not know how to call in a NICS back ground checK??

I spoke to another employee, who happenED to know me and who happended to have sold me a gun last month, and asked him to make the call. After 10 minutes he returns and gives me the proceed. I knew that guy yesterday was new and maybe a little slow. The thing was I had to fill up another 4473 form since the yesterday's one was invalid.
