Yowza! Until I handled this beauty, I never thought I'd buy a lever action. I handled the all-stainless version with 18.5-inch ported barrel. I immediately ordered one with Ken, one with a 16.5-inch barrel. I was able to snap some photos of it:

This one shows the hammer when it is lowered:

And, this one shows the hammer in the "safe" position, with the top part pushed forward:

This thing uses a really beefed up locking block (its is on the left, and a standard one is on the right):

I can't wait to get mine! It seems like the perfect pig-hunting carbine.

That looks beautifully engineered. I hardly dare ask re price - it has be ''up there'' I'd imagine.

IIRC Ken does one for .454 ... not totally sure but if like this one - it could be awful tempting!

Did you handle this at SHOT Show today?

Ohh! Can I shoot it? Huh? Can I can I? Huh? <bouncing up and down>

When do we get our new gun? :D

So here's the deal, I'll take the 100# eatin' pigs with my itty-bitty 44 and you get the big 300+ pound trophy boars, deal?

That's a beauty, and I'm a sucker for lever actions. What are the ballistics on that round out of a 16.5" barrel?

What are the ballistics on that round out of a 16.5" barrel?
Wondering that myself! I have not checked any figures on the round but purely guessing ... I'd say you may have in region of 2150 fps ... and with a 350 grainer ... approx 4,000 ft lbs energy.

Might be wildly out (probably am) but either way - that is gonna be one muther of a hunting piece. :p

Hmmm... looking at that rifle, I can't help but hope they produce a version in .460 S&W. If that round can do 2200 fps out of a revolver, what would it do out of a carbine? Daddy like!

Now, a 460SW lever gun sounds like fun!

Let's just make sure we don't use those cartridges with the pointy bullets in that tube magazine. :what:

Makes me want to frequent someplace with dangerous game about.

1. prelimninary pricing as follows

2. We are already gettin 1800 fps plus with a 440 grain bullet in the 50

3. We talked to Smith and Corbon, we are going to statrt working on the 460...bet we get 2600 fps with a 200 grainer

4. It will be offered in a finish other than Stainless, either we will do it ourselves or contract to do it.

I'm very tempted. Sounds like a fun gun. Just wondering after checking out the pricing, don't rifles with synthetic stocks tend to be cheaper than wood/laminate versions?

Good Work WildAlaska! I'd rather face a bear with your rifle than S&W's hand cannon....

Might want to round off the inside of the lever a bit.
Send me one and I'll let you know how it turns out.

tag...VERY interested. Esp in a 460SW take down stainless/synthetic.

Now...just out of curiousity, how many rds of .500S&W does that tubular mag hold in the 16.5" version? n- I just found that (6).

Thanks.

Nice, but...

We are already gettin 1800 fps plus with a 440 grain bullet in the 50

And that beats Garrett Hammerhead .45-70, Buffalo Bore, and my own 2000fps Ruger #1 loads how?

if i could get one in .480 ruger/.475 linebaugh, i'd be interested
