Living in a state that I shouldn't, it may soon be illegal to have magazines that hold over 10 rounds. S&W makes a 10 round 30sc magazine for the EZ but I don't see any for the Shield Plus. Is there any hope?
They didn't use to. Look to the future. NM is actually trying to outlaw all semiautomatics. Why even bother with 30SC if you live in a magazine capacity restricted state? The 9mm Shield Plus is 10+1 as is.
30SC is a more obscure, more expensive, slightly less powerful round whose only selling point is you can get more capacity than a similar size 9mm, but if your state restricts that then no point.

Actually, I think that .30SC should replace the .380ACP. It could have sufficient velocity for proper expansion of the bullet with less recoil for women and people with arthritis. Not as effective as a 9mm, but great for those people that can't quite handle a 9mm. They should have made a P365 .30SC version instead of the P365-380.
.30SC has roughly similar recoil as 9mm. These guys tested it:

With the .30SC you can cut back on the powder load and still have sufficient velocity for the bullet to expand with less recoil.
It is not a good idea to use hand loads for defensive ammunition.
