Winchester 190 Broken Firing Pin

Friends, I'm a newby with a small problem...I have a Winchester model 190 that has a broken firing pin, ordered new one online. Problem being, I can not slide the new pin past the extractor lobe, removed pin, but, does not seem to help. Do not want to force it in...anyone know what my resolution might be...thanks

It has been a while, but I don't recall that the firing pin contacts the extractor. You remove the firing pin stop pin, pull or push the old firing pin out, then install the new one and put the stop pin back in. Just make sure the firing pin spring and plunger are in correctly. But I could be wrong; I don't own a 190 and haven't worked on one in many years.

that's kinda what I thought the procedure would be, removed stop pin and old firing pin, but, new pin will not pass by the extrator lobe no matter what I try...

hmmmm

can't find any way to remove the extractor...assumed that it came apart, but can't seem to get it apart. Didn't want to marr it by prying it if it didn't come apart...don't have a manual. Any advice would be appreciated...

Win 190 Forend Removal

St George Shooter;
To remove forend, drift out the roll pin at the muzzle between the barrel and the magazine tube. Pull the magazine tube out twoard the muzzle. It will come right off.
