Winchester 94 price & DOB

My nephew offered me his Winchester 94, serial no 4,000,703, 30/30 cal, tonight. Bluing is excellent. Stock/forearm are walnut, very good condition, nice grain with some figure, except for a few minor dings. According to him, was never shot much, and hasn't been shot in 4 years. He bought it off his buddy, who needed the cash.

He offered it to me for $400. Good deal? What is approximate value? Any idea of year of manufacture?

250-350 is unrealistic unless it is a beater. 400 is probably fair, but not a great bargain.
