My brother in law gave me a Winchester Model 101 12 ga, it has a 34 " barrel that is heavily engraved, it is single shot, marked LinKodensha Co Ltd 2 3/4 by the triger, web site says it was manufactured about 1967. Any one know anymore about this model, value etc ? I have had it about 7 or 8 years and have never taken it out to shoot. Just looks too nice to take out of the house.

This is the single barrel trap version of the Winchester 101 over/under. Not real common, but not much sought after, either. Markings should read Olin-Kodensha, the Winchester affiliate in Japan where the gun was actually made.

There were combo guns made with a set of o/u barrels for trap doubles. Does your gun have a bottom firing pin or is it a pure single shot?

Never looked but have now. It does have another firing pin, Also does say Olin, I thought the "O" was a mark that looked like a wreath or ? Does this mean I can purchase an over under barell for it?

If you can find one. I have had zero luck in finding barrels for my 101. I would really like to find a 20 set, so if you have a source for them, hook me up.

Finding a set of o/u barrels and getting them to fit on your frame would be a challenge. I don't think Winchester supports the Jap 101 any more.

I shoot with a few guys that own 101 variations; including myself. Most of them don't shoot them much as they have switched to other trap guns.

For what it's worth here is one example:
One is for sale at our local club. It's a combo set with a half a dozen chokes and a hard sided case. If I remember correctly one of the "three" bbls is fixed at full choke; either the single bbl or the top bbl on the O/U. It's sold back a forth about three times. Once for $2000.00. It now has new wood on it and the current asking price is $1700.00 (if I rember correctly). It's in need of some work but is not warn beyond $100 worth of gunsmithing.

I suspect this example is newer than your 1967 gun as it (the example) has removable chokes. The "default" fixed choke for a 101 Trap gun would be a full choke.

I agree with the other posts. Finding an O/U bbl will be challenging.

They are known to kick a little harder than usual. I believe they were one of the earlier trap combos offered.

They are solid trap guns.

The 101s I've seen skeet shooters using have been pretty darn solid guns. One of the local skeet shooters has a 101 with an incredible custom stock, I'm very jealous of it!
