Winchester Model 54 Question

I have a Winchester Model 54 (30-06) that belonged to my dad but he has since passed away. I have never fired it so I don't know how to take out the bolt. I want to make sure it is safe to fire so I need to take it down and clean it. Any help would be great.

It's not the same as the old model 70's as I'd thought.
Place the safety in the intermediate position(middle), raise the bolt handle and pull it back while holding the trigger back as far as it will go. The bolt will slide out now.

It gets more involved if you want to disassemble the bolt, so if you do, let me know.
