My Dad left me this 22 rifle about 4-years ago, shortly before he passed away. I remember getting to shoot it when I was 12-years old, which will make it at least 50-plus years old. My best guess it's not had over 300-rounds through it. It's condition is best stated at "very good", not mint, not excellent!

The serial number is: 219169. How can I tell when it was actually made?

If any of you have a gun "blue book", can you tell me what the ball-park value is please. I know it depends a lot on who is buying it.

Thanks for your help!

My source (Winchester Pocket Guide) says that is a 1948 vintage. At gunshows I see them in the $600 to $800-ish range depending on condition.

I'd sure like to have a nice 62 to keep my 61 company ;)

Shotgun Dave:
Should I expect to need to click on a registration link in order to send you email? I'm not much inclined to click to somewhere I wasn't already planning to go.

The text of the email is:
The spirit is willing - but the wallet is weak. I'll still enjoy the pictures and comment on what I think of the condition. Here are some pictures of the "lonely" 61 -

PS The last gunshow I attended, I had to pass up a nice 62 in favor of AR15 magazines, .223 ammo and the already ordered rifle kit from Del-Ton
