found some wolf 7.62x54r 148 grain ammo for my romanian psl, have heard this is what is recomended for these rifles so has not to beat the crap out of the bolt and reciever.

price is $190.00 shipped to my door is this a good price or do you all know where i can get it cheaper, dont want to shoot surplus ammo in it due to corrosive thing.

i know not hard to clean after shooting it but would really like the wolf stuff.

any help would be appreciated.

thanks

wolf ammo

What is a romanian PSL? And how much ammo for the $190 dollers?
I will assum its a mosin nagant,and the $190 is for a 1000 rnds.
i buy the wolf ammo 7.62x54R 148 gr fmj at my gun store for around
$9 bucks for 20 rounds.
thats $450 Dollers for a thousand rounds,
thats $225 for 500 rounds.
wow i had never done the math before thats a lot of money.
time for me to order ammo thrue mail.
well anyway it works real good in my mosin nagant it shoots better than any surplus ammo plus you dont have to worry about all that cleaning.
well i hope my info was any help.

a psl is an illongated AK. externaly resembles the Draganov but is internaly an AK

if your going to spend the 4X extra money to get wolf over surplus. you might aswell look into S&B. or Privi partizan ( another wolf name but seems to have a better reputation)

at gun shows here in houston, wolf sells for about six bucks a box. so 100 rounds would be 30 dollars. so 500 would be 150, you are paying almost 8 bucks a box.

http://ammunitiontogo.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=24_101_126, look at teh bottom for brown bear, 155 bucks.
http://ammunitiontogo.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=24_101_127 check the weight on that silver bear.

the main thing is, look how much cheaper the milsurp stuff is , compared to the wolf or other Bears' ammo. you ll have to e.m. him to find out how much is his wolf 76254r.

good prices on the ammo but dont want to shoot heavy grain ammo through it want to stay within the 148 to 150 weight.

not as hard on the reciever and bolt.

but appreciate the links and info.

My friend who owns a PSL shoots Czech Silvertips and is holding strong at 1.5MOA! So far he hasn't tried the Wolf ammo but I think the Wolf ammo across the board is FAR better than most folks would admit. As for the price, it does seem a bit high as I rarely spend more than $3.00/20rnds for that cartridge. Now if you're talking about Wolf Gold, that stuff is brass cased and well made. I haven't found it for less than $12.00 anywhere.

it's not wolf gold just their standard ammo. and it's actually the cheapest i have found, i usally get ammo from midway-usa but they want $192.00 before shipping and taxes, and my C&R dealer discount for the same stuff.

wish i could get it from them cheaper but cant so.
i have some of the silver tip and have'nt shot it yet heard it is good also.

and about 40 rounds of russian 147 grain i haven't shot either.

That's a good price for up here. Wolf's light ball has been notoriously hard to find. It seems to vanish quick when it does show up locally. All modern production Wolf is non-corrosive.

Speak of the devil, I just put a quick 20 rounds of the Wolf steel case FMJ. I've never had any problems with accuracy or clean up.

I shoot silvertip out of mine, no prob with corrosion. Only takes an extra 5 minutes before cleaning to spray a little windex down the barrel and gas tube.

Guys...Wolf is good ammo, but Czech Silver Tip is also pretty good. 1.5 MOA out of the PSL and I just picked up 2,400 rounds for $220 shipped.

One of the best ammo out there right now.

You guys better jump on it before it runs out.

I'm picking up another 2,400 next week.

OK, where did you get the 2400 rounds for $220 shipped? I just bought an M44 and have been pricing ammo on-line and didn't find that.

where are you guys finding wolf ammo so cheap its 15-16 bucks a box of 20 here
