I recently bought a Wolff reduced power shooter pack for my Ruger Security Six revolver. I bought it from a 3rd party vendor, not Wolff. I was surprised to notice that the reduced power mainspring was actually longer than the stock one that was in the gun. After I installed both the trigger and hammerspring, it seemed to me that the trigger pull was even heavier than it was before I put the reduced power springs in. Then I can across this post by someone

I am now wondering if I am one of those people that need the Redhawk spring. Has anyone heard of this or experienced it.

I've been posting the same thing for years about my Police Service-Six - the kit made the trigger a lot worse. I knew the gun had a great trigger when I bought it new in the mid-80s, but I purchased a kit from Brownell's later on just for the heck of it when I ordered a bunch of stuff.

My Lyman digital gauge said it made it worse, too. Oh well, it was just a few bucks and it makes a good story.

Reduced Power

I several years ago installed a reduced power mainspring and a reduced power rebound spring in my S&W Model 19. It made a huge difference in both DA & SA pull. I put in the middle weight rebound spring (14 lbs) and really like the difference. I use standard WSP primers and never have had a FTF.I know nothing about Rugers but my experience has been positive.:)
