I have a Ruger Security Six. I ordered a reduced power main and trigger spring and when I got them, the reduced power mainspring was a longer spring than the factory mainspring that was in the gun. It also made the trigger pull a lot harder than with the original one. I called Wolff and they said that there are a few Security Six's tha take a different spring than most of the others and they said they would send me some new springs that would work. When I got the springs in the mail, they were for a Redhawk. I called Wolff and they said these springs would work fine even though they were for a Redhawk. So, I installed one of the new springs they sent me. It did make the trigger pull lighter. I went to the range with my S6 to try it out. My shooting was off, a lot worse than it was with the original factory spring. I wouldn't have expected the reduced power spring to make my shooting worse, I would have expected it to help improve it. Maybe just a conicidence, perhaps. I would put the factory spring back in but my wife has a harder time pulling the trigger wit the factory spring in but not with the reduced power one.

Your take?

Accuracy isn't a function of mainspring weight, it is a function of trigger management. Sounds like you need to get used to the pressure needed to manage the new spring weight.

Disclaimer - this is based on you shooting in DA and not staging the trigger. If you are shooting in SA or you are staging the trigger during the DA trigger stroke, it is likely that you are jerking the trigger due to anticipation
