15-Year-Old Burglar Dies After Being Shot By Woman

LOS ANGELES -- A 15-year-old boy shot during a California burglary has died.

Police said a 59-year-old woman returned to her South Los Angeles home Tuesday morning after a walk and was confronted by a boy wielding a tire iron. She shot him with a handgun she keeps for protection. The woman wasn't hurt.

The district attorney's office will determine if the woman will face any charges.

Authorities aren't releasing the boy's name.

I disagree.

The fault clearly lies with the manufacturer of the tire iron, as well as with the people who failed to properly secure it. If children didn't have easy access to weapons such as these, the world would be a safer place.

The State of California must immediately initiate proceedings to sue all manufacturers of tire irons.

She left her home, which presented a temptation which this poor misguided youth could not resist. She returned before this poor, lost soul could escape her murderous intent. That violent woman should have known better than to have a gun within reach when taking a walk. Her heart rate was elevated, and her muscles were tense, and she was probably on the verge of hyperventilating from the exercise. No one can exercise good judgement under those conditions.
