Worst 22 rifle you've ever shot?

I had one bought brand new and it shot that bad or worse!

+1

I stuck it back in the corner of a closet and it sat there for many years. Along came retirement and I needed something to do so I got it out and "fixed" it. A Green Mountain 20" bull barrel, trigger work, a built from scratch stock with epoxy bedding, and a good scope. It's a slightly less than half minute of angle shooter off the bench with Wolf Target ammo now.

That's on a still day of course. I don't even play with trying to read the wind anymore.

No doubt the AR7. Clever design, terrible execution. Pot metal, stamped steel POS. Lots of guys fantasize that these are "survival guns". If you are depending on an AR7 to survive, you might as well point it at your head and hope it fires, because you are doomed.

Well, I've got all you guys beat....................... :neener:

Once had the chance to use one of these - UK Cadet rifle.

"Forgotten Weapons" has a youtube video on it -

It was fitted with the .22" conversion kit so it could be used on indoor ranges.
Awkward to handle with a weird lever assisted straight pull action - cadets weren't allowed to use semi-aoutos.
And the worst trigger I've ever experienced................
Give me a 10/22 any day! :)

Sadly my Nylon 66.

Thing is a jamomatic. Something must be wrong with it but the knowledge on their inner workings is arcane. I've heard these are the most reliable .22 rifle in history but not so with my example, figures. Quite the shame as its offhand accuracy is stunning and it is incredibly light and handing. I can pop a fresh green walnut from 25 yards or better almost every time standing. Would make a top squirreler but the jams are frustrating and I'll probably get rid of it soon.
Before you get rid of it, check out the Remington sub forum over at Rimfire Central. There is an amazing pool of "arcane" knowledge there.

Am at a loss why the nylon 66 is so reviered. They look like what a fisher price rifle would be to me.
Oh man....back in the day the Nylon 66 was lusted after by many a young lad! They set records for consecutive wood blocks hit http://www.nylonrifles.com/wp/2013/02/the-most-famous-nylon-66/ and advertised them in Boys Life and other magazines pretty effectively. They looked sleek and 'space-age' and I was one of the young'ins who dreamed of someday getting one. Sadly (or perhaps happily?) they were gone by the time I was old enough to buy one and ended up with my first 10/22. Been hooked on the Ruger's ever since.
