I don't understand why CCW would be any more an issue than anything else in his life. Is he a safe driver? Is he violent? Is he a hard worker? Does he exercise good judgment? Is he honest? etc., etc,
I keep a loaded revolver in my auto, which is legal in Missouri. I have it as insurance against the unlikely event that I will need it to protect my family or myself. I would appreciate it if my daughter's date, companion, or husband took the same precaution when she is in his vehicle, and was competent in the use of both the gun and the car.
Should I be fearful of all you CCW's out there? Of course, not. I am safer the more CCW carriers there are, and that includes a man with one of my daughters. In fact the man one of my daughters married owned guns, primarily for hunting before they married, but back then Missouri did not have CCW. Their 10 year old son hunts and target practices with a 22, 30-30, and 410 and I feel quite safe around him, as he is well trained in the use of firearms.
I am less appreciative of my other son-in-law who is afraid of guns and does not avail himself of the benefit of owning even one.
