well as most of you know I want a trade gun and have been for a while but before that I wanted a squirrel rifle in 32 caliber and so I have found one that's very beautiful and well made and so I have the money to buy it as I am a little short for buying the david pedersoli indian trade musket and so the wife told me to buy this squirrel rifle as she knows I been wanting one for quite a while and that we would save up again to get that trade musket as she likes the trade musket as much as I do! so guys should I go ahead and buy this Bp squirrel rifle as its sure purdy and I am very interested in trying to take squirrels with one! thanks guys!

Fwiw, the only way i like to hunt squirrels is with my .32, .40, or .45 bp rifles.

This is my family heirloom .40.
Also in my avatar photo.
wow nice rifle you have plus I looked for a 40c for a while as here in Oklahoma we can use a 40c for deer and so I wished I found one but since I do have a 45c rocklock I finished from a kit I have the deer hogs taken care of plus I also own a Bp shotgun its a H&R huntsman 12 guage and I like it very well! so I was thinking if I bought the 32c squirrel rifle then I would have one for big game like deer and hogs and the shotgun for small game, upland birds, waterfowl etc. and the squirrel rifle so that should fix me up pretty good!

On the other hand, your wife may abscond with a cute little 32, and you're right back where you started with no money.
Things like this do happen.
Mine held my R92 hostage until I bought her an old microgroove 30-30.
It's a win either way.

Go with the squirrel gun. From what I'm understanding it's a good price on it. You never know when you will get this opportunity again

Another vote for the squirrel gun. As Armored farmer said: "When opportunity knocks..."

Any time you can buy a gun, do it. Pics - it took me awhile to learn how to post them. If he has a digital camera of smart phone it's learning how to down load it to his computer. You just have to ask the question if you want to and don't know how. Someone here will help ya.

Buy it. Those small caliber rifles are a hoot to shoot. I sold a 36 cal rifle I built that was convertible from rock to cap, regretted it for years. I finally built myself another one and this one stays with me. You can always get a trade gun but a decent small bore is something you shouldn't pass on. Just MHO.

Bummer! Sorry to hear that. Well I guess it's back to Plan "A " with the Trade Gun then. Let us know how it goes with this one.

Yep thanks guys plus my wife has been in the hospital since April and nursing home in may and they sent her home but she went back down last Tuesday and so they transferred her to a different hospital this morning and so she needs prayers

I am not a religious guy, but my condolences to you and I wish the best for your wife. Best I can do is keep my fingers crossed for her.

My wife's ex passed away 2 days ago, and her 2 daughters are having a very hard time with it. He was 66.

I know this is off topic in the thread so I am done with that subject. I hope the mods forgive us.
