I have been on the look out for powders that perform well in my 44 spl, I had a love hate thing ongoing with Unique and I cut the ties. I've been Unique free for ten years now, my replacements have been Accurate #5, Vihtavuori N 340 and WSF. WSF came to me during the great powder shortage when AA#5 and N340 disappeared, along with Unique. So I bought a lbs of WSF
As many shotgun powders work well for pistol reloading WSF was no exception, I have been mostly using this powder in 44 spl with 210 gr MBC coated RNFP with great results, this morning I thought I would try this powder with some 180 gr XTP's.

I could not find any load data for this combo so I took the wag, I shot these off the tailgate of my pickup. The two high shots I let the gun recoil, the three lower shots I used a firm grip. The difference in my grip on the gun is a 2 1/4" change of POI I thought that was interesting.
Sorry the pic is sideways.

Don't own a .44 but I like WSF.
I tried it to begin with for the same reason you did.
It was available during the shortage when nothing else was and it did have listed loads for 9mm.. Became my go to powder for 9mm.

Easy way to rotate if you have Windows is right click on the pic and select rotate.
Can't recall if you could do it in WIn XP but it works from Vista upwards.

Thanks, the pic was correct in the preview but turned sideways when I posted it.
WSF works well for me in 9x19, I even found a good load for .380 acp with WSF but it was on the edge :)

WSF is my go to for 9mm. Meters well in my Dillon and does well behind 115gr and 124 X-treme bullets.
