XDs 9mm is here

I looked at the XDs and the P938 for a new carry. I got the Sig because it is smaller, and 9mm cost less to play with than .45 does. Already have a couple of .45 anyway. If the XDs 9mm had been out, I'm not sure what I would have chosen.
How do you like your Sig? I've been considering that for my next carry piece.

This is where I think most people are mistaken. IMHO all the guns we're talking about here are better suited for IWB concealed carry and not pocket carry. For true pocket carry, even the PM9 is too large for me. An extra quarter inch of length or a couple of extra ounces isn't going to be a deal breaker when carried IWB w/ a proper holster and gun belt. All that matters is that the gun is THIN, which all of the guns being discussed here are. They are all right around .90" thick from top to bottom if you ignore control lever thickness. Basically, what I'm saying is that a PM9 and a XDs are going to carry exactly the same when carried IWB. Pocket carry is a different story and I can understand wanting the absolute smallest gun out there, but again, I don't think these guns are intended for pocket carry. Pistols like the Ruger LCP, R9, etc would make for a better pocket gun.

I own an XDs, a PM9 and an LCP, and I have carried them all in my pocket. Naturally the Ruger carries the best, but the Kahr is almost as comfortable. The XDs not so much. XDs is no pocket gun, and outside of being a 45 it is less than remarkable. In a single stack 9, there are many more solutions that I would prefer over an XDs, Kahr just being one of them. HK P7 being another.

As for Kahr triggers, anyone that would take issue with them has not had enough experience. Kahr has one of the best triggers available. So does the LCP and for the same reason, they are safe, without superflous safeties.

As for the grip on the Kahr PM9, yes it is small, but it is a small gun, as it was intended to be. Put a Talon rubber grip on it, and it becomes a whole other gun. Ever seen Hickock45 on YT? He has very large hands, and smallish grips are no problem for him because he uses Talon grips. There are myriad solutions to aid with the various compromises with the different handguns available. Exploring them and coming to grips with solutions that allow your personal system to work are all that matters to "You".

Well, I love it, but I have to qualify that statement with the fact that I haven't fired it yet. I hope I still love it later. But, as for size, and aesthetics, it's fantastic - just what I was looking for. Several problems have been reported with it, but the guys with problems are the only ones you ever hear from.

I think it's great - it offers features that some people like.

IMO - it's not a pocket pistol, and neither is the Nano, the Sheild, or the Glock 26.

It appears to be .45 version with 9mm barrel.

Perfect!! It'll fit any holster I buy for the XD-S (.45 Auto) that I have on order ... and it would give me a 7+1 or 9+1 option.

I carry my XDs in .45 a lot now. I carry it with the flush fitting magazine in the gun and two 7-rounders on the side. They're almost the same size as a 1911 magazine, so all your leather mag holsters will work, kydex and plastic not so much.

The .45ACP kicks a bit, but isn't bad. Remember, it isn't meant to be a range gun so it might not be comfortable for extended shooting sessions. For its designed purpose, self defense, it kicks just enough. :D
