My brand new SureFire E1 Executive arrived today.

This is my first SureFire with a pocket clip.

My question: The way the E1's pocket clip was set at the factory, the flashlight is pretty loose clipped to my pocket.

Is there a correct way to "tighten" the clip so it holds "stronger" to my pocket, or do I just bend the clip back a little?

Thanks...

Strange. The pocket clips on my E1/E2/E2es have always been very tight straight from the factory.

Anyway, you said you had an E1, not an E1e. When I've bent the pocket clips on my E2, it was simple to bend back into place. An Allen wrench removes the clip from the bezel. As the clip is relatively flat, I inserted the bezel end of the clip into a vise (wooden -- to prevent damage to the finish) and bent it back into place. Bend a little at a time, replace the clip and see how it feels. Don't try to do it all at once or you'll end up over-bending the clip. Slow and steady is the ticket.

Now if you have an E1e, not an E1, I can't help you. I can't figure out how to remove the clip from my E2e as it uses a different method to secure the clip to the light.

ON the E2E unscrew the bezel and push up on the clip, reshape and return. Instead of pocket carry I prefer a Kydex Sheath from Eric of On Scene Tactical. Horizontal carry rules.

jthuang -- thanks so much for the info

mercop -- thanks, too, and do you have a website for On Scene Tactical?

 :p :)

David, just did a quick search on the net and came up with this. It's some very nice looking stuff; I'm looking to get one of their light holders if they'll fit horizontally on a 2" duty belt. They're rather plain, but there isn't much out there that's kydex and looks good.

They do have holsters for a lot of knives that usually don't get much attention. That's very nice.

That is the first case I have seen for the Surefire E1, I want one, but it says price TBA and the guy is in Canada. Surely someone else makes light holders here in the US.

Could you narrow down my search a little bit ?
That website is ....................... busy.

Roger That, look to the center of the page and click on the 'Brands' and then scroll it down to Surefire Flashlight, that'll get you to the main SF page, then click on the TID attachment, when you get there, there'll be another menu above it for accessories, hit that. Or you could just email Evan, he's pretty quick on the reply.
Or better yet, try these guys: http://www.countycomm.com/kydexpage.htm
:D
