You can check STOLEN GUN NUMBERS HEAR

We will see how accurate that site is as when I get home I will enter several guns that were stolen from me from my last home burglary.

Before you buy any used gun, check it against the largest user-submitted database of stolen firearms. The HotGunz Stolen Firearms Database has OVER 4,000 stolen guns from all over North America, and best of all... It's absolutely FREE.

While I applaud the thought, people have to input their own numbers...If you do not know about the site and report to the police only, the site does you no good...

user-submitted database = garbage

It'll get filled with random numbers quickly

Virtually useless, at least at this time. If enough people bother to enter enough data in time it may be somewhat useful.

Sounds nearly worthless, then.

What, if anything, is stopping people from entering serial numbers into this database of guns that they own that have not been stolen?

How about the serial number of a gun somebody posted a picture of?

Forgot to mention the fact that I boycott anything spelled with a 'z' rather than 's' to designate a plural. It's not a sign of professionalism at work.

oh for whatever reason i thought it would have been tied in with police or insurance info. i thought he was entering them in checking if they were listed. my bad just skimmed through the thread.
