It totally blows my mind that these companies are so short sighted that they would think gun enthusiast would continue to shop at their stores. There are so many better options than to shop at Dicks or Fly Delta Airlines. I’m Thinking the word boycott is appropriate.

Voted NO. It amazes me that a struggling company decides to alienate it's target market by making a statement to appease people who don't shop there.
This announcement didn't really change how they operated after Sandy Hook. What will they gain?
I see this as the end of Dick's. It's only a matter of time now.

One can only hope. When businesses see that pandering to any political group on either side as retaliation against their enemies leads to failed business, maybe they'll get the hint and stay neutral

You ever notice that all these posturing statements begin with:

They believe and respect the 2nd Amendment BUT>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

We have heard you. The nation has heard you. We support and respect the Second Amendment, and we recognize and appreciate that the vast majority of gun owners in this country are responsible, law-abiding citizens. But........................................

Poll is still up.
70% NO right now.
it's near the bottom and takes a bit to load.

Seems like poll is down. Guess they didn't get the answer they wanted.

"We support and respect the Second Amendment, and we recognize and appreciate that the vast majority of gun owners in this country are responsible, law-abiding citizens. But we have to help solve the problem that's in front of us."

Here's a clue:
"A well-regulated Militia, being necessary for the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

There is not "but" in the Second Amendment. If you say, "I support the Second Amendment... But..." you don't support the Second Amendment.

"At the same time, we implore our elected officials to enact common sense gun reform and pass the following regulations:

  • Ban assault-style firearms
  • Raise the minimum age to purchase firearms to 21
  • Ban high capacity magazines and bump stocks
  • Require universal background checks that include relevant mental health information and previous interactions with the law
  • Ensure a complete universal database of those banned from buying firearms
  • Close the private sale and gun show loophole that waives the necessity of background checks"
The Second Amendment is not about hunting. And private citizens selling private property to other private citizens is not a "loophole."
