Anything here in the PRI (People's Republic of Illinois). No CCW here. We "down staters" HATE Chicago for controlling the state and not giving a crap about us.

I feel like such a copycat but if someone else has already done it right then I see no harm in following in their foot steps.

Lunde's Ed Brown Speacial Forces commander with bobtail and blank slide:

And my personal favorite Dawgfvr's Gp100 3" from gemini customs:

I just bought mine today actually, a fullsize Springfield 1911-A1 in 9mm. Now all it needs is some new sights and trigger time.

a weapon that would deter anti gun enthusiast on a 1911 frame. That saw action in WW2 Korea Vietnam and the Middle East. Something with some meaning behind it.

I have two that I really really want:

Ideally, a J-frame .357 with the trigger of a K-frame.

Impossible, I know.

So.............a 2 1/2" 686+ Performance Center "carry comp". As long as I'm dreaming, why not design a new hammerless centenial type 686 without the lock just for the occasion.

My dream carry gun would be a 10-shot J-frame S&W chambered in .50 BMG,

You did say dream.

Right.

I'll take a 442 with an inexhaustible loading of mind-controlled miniture JDAMs.

Bob-tailed polymer-frame Commander-length 1911 in 9mm with reliable, flush-fitting 10-rd magazines. Melonited slide with black oxide finish, no grip safety provision (just a slight beavertail), frame slenderized like the Gunsite Gunsmithy used to do it but as part of the molding of the frame, frame with molded-in texturing like that of a Browning BDM, plain black "ledge_-type (i.e. 10-8, YoBo, Heinie Ledge, etc.) rear sight, self-illuminated front fiber optic sight that would stay in forever and not work it's way out...

That about does it.

A cZ75 Compact with an aluminum receiver. Had an opportunity to buy one last year, but passed it up and no regret it. Would also consider a full size cZ 75 with an aluminum receiver.

1911 in 7.62x25 TT, with all the bells and whistles. I mean, really? Why choose anything else other than a 7.62TT?

Al-alloy frame, "Detective" length barrel/slide BHP. Since one already exists in 9mm that isn't too far fetched. Perhaps in .40?

Honestly? I'm pretty happy with my nite-sighted Glock 19. Nothing fancy. Grip plug, 3# connector, and an extended mag release. It's fairly light, fairly accurate, and utterly reliable. That pretty much gets it done.
