What is your favorite cartridge to reload? I can't pick just one
38 special. Easy to load, easy to get accuracy.
357. Also accurate and fun to put near the limit, though I never go to the top.
44 special. A special place in my heart. Easy, accurate and even when mild, equal to the acp.
44 mag.
45 Colt. Might be my #1.
Those I don't like to but still reload. 380, 9, 45 acp.
30-30. 222, 223, 45-70. All fun.
What about you?

.222 Rem Mag because it was the first caliber I reloaded for in 1970 (with a Lyman 310 Tong Tool). Bought a Lyman turret press in about 1980 and added .270 Win, .308 Win, .300 Savage and .338 Win Mag about 2003. Great hobby and a necessity during the ammo shortage of the past few years. I would say that I haven't bought factory ammo in a very long time. The last I remember buying was in 2010 when a store was going out of business and selling boxes of .338 Win Mag for $20 instead of $30.

I don't have a favorite to reload. It would be a tough choice to make. One thing i do like is the versatility of rifle loads. You can load soft shooting rounds with cast data. Up to full power house loads with rifle powders. Hand gun you can too to a point. Cast data loads for rifle wont cycle a gas cycled gun though. They do work as a straight pull bolt load.

Prolly the .41... as far as handgun cartridges, although the .45ACP is a close second. Those are both loaded on the ProJector.

Rifle cartridges... I LOVE loading the .30-06 for the M1 Garand, although there is a huge self-satisfaction to loading both the .348WCF and the .45-70.

I get the most satisfaction out of loading .38Spl because of the subtleties of not shaving the coating on the bullets and getting a uniform crimp to hold a tight group at 50+ yards when shooting DA in competition.

I most enjoy loading 9mm because I love how accurate the RMR MatchWinners are when I get the balance just right between the recoil spring and the powder charge to bring the sights right back to the original POA

No real favorite, but I do prefer cartridges where it's easy to see the powder fill after charging the case. Most 40+ caliber handgun and 30+ caliber rifle cartridges meet that criteria. Standard pressure 45 Colt is an exception that generally falls short due to low case fill. Many 45 Colt and 38 Special loads can easily be double or even triple charged - ouch.

I really like to load .45colt. It is so big and forgiving.

My favorite, however, is shotgun shells. I like the perfect crimp on a well-worn blackened hull. A single pellet resting perfectly peeking from the center of the crimp.
I like crafting the 28ga and .410 bore on my 600jr mecs.
Loading hundreds of 12ga for clay games can be monotonous even with my 650 progressive.....but still satisfying.

It I had to choose a favorite it probably would be 308. But it would be easier to name my least favorites. That would be 22 Hornet because the case if so thin and the 9MM with lead bullets because its a juggling act to find a cast bullet that fits the barrel and loading it so that it will function.

This one is kinda tough for me to decide. Reloading is an unfortunately necessary means to an end for me and I don't particularly enjoy any respective part of the process, but I don't really differentiate the varying processes by their ease or complexity. So rather, I suppose the biggest differentiator for my favor among all of the rounds I reload is the extent of satisfaction, or lack thereof, when I remove finished rounds from the press, or see them all in the racks when completed. I don't derive any palpable satisfaction from loading blasting ammo, such as for 38spcl, 9mm, 40, 45acp, or 223rem. I'm also not terribly inspired when creating hunting ammo, and in this introspective exercise, I'm realizing I don't really like reloading my belted magnums.

But there ARE a few cartridges I thoroughly enjoy pulling off of the press - most of them short, squat cartridges, so I assume it's an aesthetic preference. 357/44 B&D, 6 Dasher, 243LBC, 6.5 Grendel, 6 ARC, 6BR, 300 wsm, 243 and 25 WSSM, 357 sig, 22 Jet, 22 Hondo... These are rounds I just love pulling from the press. Like holding little cherry bombs as a kid - they're short, but they pack a lot of potential into a small little cartridge case.
