to find me a CCW for someone with large(not huge)hands. The lighter the better and higher capacity is a plus but not killer. It will be used in a smartcarry so it doesn't have to be a pocket or mouse but can be. Of course I know I will have to go with what fits best but I need some ideas to get started beyond reading posts.
I currently use/carry a P226 if that helps and love the feel of the P228, but it's a little heavier then I'd prefer if possible. I'm used to the DA/SA of my SIG but not opposed to using a different method(more practice). Reliabilty is a MUST and most important. I'm not concerned about price so long as it fits my needs.
I haven't had the chance to try out many other then the SIG but here's my dilemma and concerns---
Kahr----subcompact may be too small, low rounds, reliability
Taurus---reliabilty, grip size
S&W---low rounds, thick grip end
Glock19(26 too small)---not DA/SA, smartcarry safety
USPc----too blocky? not big enough for large hands?, printing?
P-11--not reliable, DAO, too small

BTW, I'm looking at 9mm and I'm 6'2" and 210 for size reference, Thanks for any help :) :)
Forgot the XD, but after reading some posts the trigger and size may be problems as well.

Well from what you have said (and eliminated) sounds like you want a 228. 26oz is pretty light -- espeically if you rule out a glock.
Another choice would be the Walther p99.
And a CZ PCR would be fit your criteria (although both are about the same weight as the Sig)
If you wanted to go to a single stack or a single action, you could get a light weight commander 1911 or one of the double stacks from STI (I recommend the VIP)
But if you already like the 226 I would put my money on the 228 (225 wouldn't be a bad choice either.)

I'm 6' and about 210. I carry a Kimber Ultra Carry IWB. My hands are pretty big and I find the grip to be quite good. A full size grip as on the Pro Carry would be better, but I can live with the smaller (shorter) grip. Accuracy is superb, and so far the pistol is perfectly reliable with FMJ and JHP.

You can see pictures of the KUC carried IWB (including my gut and hairy arms) here , and the results of my range session here I find cocked and locked works just fine as does the maker of the smartcarry, with a full size 1911 no less.

Sounds like we are in 9mm land...

I would take a hard look at a Taurus Millenium Pro with a titanium slide...ultra light, reasonably high capacity, should fit your hand, and will avoid "biting" your hand when you fire it...

They also have a 12 round version of this gun...same dimensions, just an extra two rounds of capacity.

Some variant of the 1911. Get an alloy framed one if weight is an issue, or a polymer framed one. You can get single or double stack, etc.

CZ PCR or PO1. DA with decocker, 14 rounds, PO1 has M3 rail, great ergonomics, less expensive than most, fantastic deal.

My PO1 with Hakan grips.
