Some very cool guns mentioned so far.
Money wise, the most I have paid for a gun is my Sig MPX in 9mm. I'm a huge Sig fan, and had been wanting a 9mm in an AR platform for a while so this fit the bill.
My most sentimental is a Remington model 41 my grandpa gave me, that was in a fire and burned the stock off completely, the bolt handle was also broken off. My grandpa welded the handle and put a Winchester stock he had laying around on it.
After he gave it to me, I refinished the Winchester stock and reblued the barrel. Then I got the urge to make myself a stock from scratch. Using some red oak I had, I made a pretty nice stock for a first timer. Also made the trigger guard and butt plate.
