So my diminutive life partner requires a shorter stock on her hunting rifle. She likes the traditional wood look but I'm having a hard time finding a wooden youth stock for a Ruger Hawkey MKII long action with the Winchester style safety. Can you fine folks give me some leads?

Don't think you'll find any for the LA, all the factory "compacts" were/are short as far as I know.
Lopping a wood stock down and refitting the pad at the correct length is probably your best option. Spare 77 stocks arnt very expensive...I actually had one a month ago or so.

Disregard, looks like Boyd's can make one with 12 ³/4 inch LOP.
My better half enjoys the cheek weld neck support of the at-1..... Kilimanjaro Artemis stocks are quite a bit finer but they, the sav lady hunter, and the wby Camilla all have something in common, our friends and family wistfully talk about a Ruger Camilla stock for the better halves fairly often, the at-1 is our cheap fix.

Even when Boyd’s doesn’t make a length of pull, I buy Boyd’s stocks and cut them down. Takes about an hour, all in, to measure, screw to a simple jig, cut the stock, and reshape the recoil pad/butt plate.

I did two stocks this weekend for my son, and another a couple of weeks ago. He outgrew the 8” LOP stocks with which he started shooting 5 years ago, so I cut replacements at 10.5”. I wrap masking tape, mark the LOP, then cut on a fine tooth blade, sliding miter saw. Any curf, which has been rare (an errant slip as I pull the stock away from the blade), can be sanded out on the bench sander before fitting the buttpad.
