Howdy everyone.I have been directed here from another site,and i have enjoyed reading this one the last few days.I am getting a Ruger .45/45LC on Thursday,so im sure i will have a few questions soon.

I do have one allready though,Anyone use there Ruger Vaquero 45/45LC almost exclusively with the 45ACP rounds?Around here,the 45LC ammo is a wee bit more costly.Well,thanks,and glad to be here'

Nothing wrong with ACPs. Your gun will have either a 4.68" barrel or a 5.5" most likely; out of either length tube, 45ACP fodder will boost to some very useful speeds.

Bonus: get yourself some cheapo 7rd 45ACP magazines for 1911s or whatever. You can use 'em as "speedloaders", thumbing rounds into the loading gate .

It ain't "cowboy" but it works .

Thanks Jim for the tip.Ive got several 7/10 round mags for my RemRand/Ithaca mixmaster and my '03 1991.After i get this Ruger i will really be packin' when i go to the range!

sight trouble

Well,i got the Ruger Thursday,and went shooting Saturday.My shooting was about up to par for me with my two 1911's,But when i tried out my New Revolver using the .45acp ammo,i could not shoot worth a flip regarding high and low,my left to right accuracy was not good,but acceptable,but geeze,i was only 9 yards away,and my point of impact ranged from about 1 inch to about 12 inches,i know it has to be me.It was really hot,i was sweating a lot,(lots of excuses here...lol)but i am going back Monday,and i will only shoot the revolver,and try to get down some type of pattern.Anyone got any quick tips on what part of the sight too line up? THANKS

Buy some .45LC and shoot it, see what happens.

I had some from my 1st range trip,but didnt use it.I did go back today and shot about 24 rounds of the LC,and WOW!!!!!!!!!!,it really was like 2 different people were shooting in regards to accuracy.I had more fun shooting today than maybe ever,i even did a few Safe "slow" Draw and fire.What a blast.If it gets much more fun,i may get another one for my other hand.Thanks again Guys.Stay safe!
