Yes, Glocks are excellent guns and have proven themselves as one of the best and most reliable. I just prefer Sig Sauer for their quality of materials, excellent construction, and attention to detail. I also prefer hammer guns. As far as triggers, there is no comparison IMHO. Although, the new Glock 48 is calling my name! :) 53419754_626924461098281_164051077644156928_o (1).jpg

In my case it's always been "no glocks" as they just don't feel "right" to me. I have no problem with those that like them and the firearms has proven to be a durable and dependable one over time. I just don't want o waste my time on something that doesn't have that "right" feeling in my hand whatever it happens to be. Plus they are, being nice, unattractive IMO. :D

I don't consider myself a Glock fanboy but I'm somewhat invested in a few Glocks. Since I don't shoot them as much as other handguns I have, it would be natural to expect that I don't do as well with them as I do with other firearms that I handle more often.

I have always thought that the reason I don't shoot my Glocks as well as others is due to the design, the triggers, the grip angle, the (light) weight, maybe the lose mechanical tolerances and poly rifling.

But then I did something radical, I committed to dry fire practice every day for two (2) weeks with my G17. After the two weeks ended, still not shooting my Glocks as well as I would like but I have to say I'm feeling quite a bit more optimistic about my chances of turning in a respectable score shooting a Glock.

Me too, in fact Glock is just about the only manufacturer I've never owned. I do shoot them well, but, eh, they don't do anything for me that another brand doesn't do as well or better.

If they are your thing, kudos, but they're just not my bag, baby......:D

Like a month ago you were valiantly defending the G45.... methinks he doth protest too much :D
I agree, the G45 is a very good gun, but the grip angle between Glocks and Sigs are like night and day. After a while, I couldn't shoot either with good consistency. One of my neighbors is a VA State Policeman, he bought the G45 from me. I think it's the best Glock ever but it's all in the taste you like.

First shot the 17 back in the mid-later 80's. The gun shop I visited on Fridays would bring a bunch of guns from the shop to the local range that evening for "demo's". Was fun to shoot variety of other fun guns too along using their ammo. That was their marketing move to entice customers.

Haven't owned one though lately a retired narco friend was talking about his latest G19 (Gen III since we are in CA.) He suggested it to me even though knowing I like hammer fired.

I have owned a number of Glocks tho none currently. I've had a couple of 27s, a 34, a couple of 22s and a couple of 35s, I have owned a number of Sigs as well but non currently. Currently I have a couple of Caniks and shoot them well so..

I do like SA hammer fired pistols and have a CZ Shadow II (converted to SA) and Tangfo I really like.

I have a few polymer pistols, but no Glocks. A couple of pistols I’ve been kind of jonsing for are the CZ 2075 RAMI and the Springfield Armory Officers Compact. As much as I’d like to get one of them, becoming debt free and building my savings is more important.

Matt

I've never shot a sig, but I'd sure like to get my hands on one someday. I'm quite inexperienced with handguns in general though.
The only non BP handgun I have is a glock 23, which was a graduation present from my family. In a few months I'll be able to start adding to the collection though...

I recommend simply change the context of the thread to "Sig Appreciation". We don't need to put down one brand to state we like another.

Besides, when plastic is involved, HK is the answer. ;) They can shoot even when the magazine is loaded backward.

Back when we were not so politically correct, we might said something like, "I didn't know HKs were made in ******." Nah, I just can't say it. Been trained too thoroughly. It is hard to find an old joke that wasn't making fun of somebody.

Sure is. Everybody is offended and enraged about something nowadays it seems. Get's old, and exhausting.

I am not a Glock fanboi. I have two, and plan to get at least one more. I have had others in the past and sold the ones I didn't like. To me they work, and are affordable. I also have Smiths, Berettas, and CZs. All of my handguns except for my Shadow 2 and a 1911 were much more affordable than a base model P226, which is why I don't have any Sigs. If I could find one at the price I got my Berettas I would jump on it but until then I won't be down with the Signess.
