Got My Old Gun Back

A couple of years ago my bud wanted a 357 revolver and asked if I had one for sale. So i sold him a S&W model 66-1 6" barreled gun. Yesterday he wanted to know if I was interested in listing it for him on gunbroker. He acted like he would just like for me to buy it back.

I told him I would give him the same $500 he paid for the gun or he could probably get an extra $100-200 dollars more by selling it on GB. He said he was happy to just get the $500 with no hassles on his end. So now I have back my gun. I weighed it. It weighs 36.5 ounces. My 6" barreled GP-100 weighs 43.5 ounces. Not a lot more. I am considering selling one or the other. What would you folks sell or keep?

And before anyone jumps in about forcing cones on K-Frame guns I have heard all the stories. I don't like light weight bullets. A light weight 357 bullet for me starts at 140grs and goes up from there.

I have two GP-100s, a 4" and the 6" mentioned along with two Security Sixes, an SP-101 and a model 65 4' police turn in. So I'm not short of 357 guns. My very first centerfire revolver was a 6" model 19 TT,TH, WO. I won a few trophies with that gun in the falling plate matches. I don't need to sell any of them. I love them all. I should have known better than to ask you guys about selling a gun. Y'all would have me buying even more.

And I won several trophies with the GP-100 also. I worked on the trigger and frankly its a little smoother than the model 66 trigger.

When I bought the gun many years ago I wished then it had the old Coke Bottle target grips on it like my first model 19 had. I never found a set from S&W I wanted to pay $75+ dollars for. I guess i need to get on ebay and see if their are some of the after market wood grips made for a price I can live with if I decide to keep the gun.

I'm leaning that way already.
