From the S&W Catalog 4th edition:Not revolvers, but they are S&W....... Maybe you can still date them? (Trying to decide which one to keep and which one to sell.)
S&W Model 39 9mm, blue, ser # 860xx
S&W Model 39-2 9mm, blue, ser # A290xxx
Many thanks!
From the S&W Catalog 4th edition:
The 39-2 shipped in 1975-76 Probably late 75 or early 76
The no dash are harder to figure.
Autos started in 1954 with serial number 1801 and ran to 1970 ending with serial number 11500. You can do the math and probably get within a year of two. That's as close as the information I have will get.
Thanks for that info. However, you say that the Model 39 (no dash number) ran to serial number 11500 in 1970. Yet mine is ser # 860xx which is way above that. So I'm confused. (Easily done at my age.) Or did you mean 115000? Thanks again for your help.
