Yeah, I know, "underpowered" but I'm fascinated by the round. Does anything on the current market shoot it besides the M1 Carbines?
The Levermatic 62 was offered in 30 Carbine, also in 256 Win Mag. I've heard they were also offered in 22 Jet, but I've never seen one.Believe Marlin did a lever rifle in that caliber...levermatic series.
I've always wanted one of those, I've seen one in real life though and it was stupendously expensive lolAMT Automag III. Not currently produced but an awful lot of fun!
Maybe not to the shooter, but to anyone else on the line it's staggeringly loud. The first time I heard one the shooter was all the way on the other end of the line. He touched one off and my reaction was "What the @#$% was THAT?!?!?". It's amazingly loud. The fireball was impressive also.I regularly shoot my Ruger BlackHawk in .30Carbine.
Fun to shoot. People claim it is excessively loud but I use electronic ear muffs and it seems no louder than any other high velocity revolver round to me.
I have a friend that has one. To me, it has the most obnoxious muzzle blast a revolver can have. BrutalI regularly shoot my Ruger BlackHawk in .30Carbine.

I like my Automag III except for the grip being so large in order to accommodate the long .30 carbine shells. I load it with 110 Sierra HPs and 125 HPs. The Ruger Blackhawk binds up with those loads.AMT Automag III. Not currently produced but an awful lot of fun!
I wish they would bring back the 99 in any caliber. Great rifle! I have one in .243. One in 7-08 would be nice.I know its a probably a pipe dream, but IF Savage ever brings back the M99, I wish they would consider .30C for one of the chamberings (along with .223, .300BO, .357 and .22LR). Being rimless, it would work well in a rotary mag, methinks.
Cmon Savage, have you seen what Levermatics are going for!
