Garmin Xero C1 Pro Chronograph

Area 419 and Gray Ops both make brackets to mount the Garmin on your Arca rail so it sits next to the gun & points in the correct
direction. They will also mount on a tripod, and the Gray Ops can mount other ways as well, very versatile setup.

They are both pricey though, and I had a short rail I replaced with a longer from my Bergara B-14, as well as an Area 419 Arca clamp,
so I scrounged a small screw and made a bracket. I used one of the threaded holes in the 419 clamp, but also drilled, countersunk &
tapped the bracket/clamp to I could add that scrounged second screw so the 419 clamp couldn't rotate. IMG_5393.JPG IMG_5395.JPG IMG_5405.JPG IMG_5408.JPG

for good arca rail product, consider Wimberley or Really Right Stuff…. Used a lot by photographers… Really Right Stuff supports shooting, too

There’s still the question that someone posted elsewhere - if the unit designed to take recoil.

It's being used on PRS style guns/calibers, so the public thinks so. I intend to use my bracket on my rimfires, but a small tripod for my Dashers.

I have a small tripod that I used the other day,

but also ordered this small one that should be
more stable than the one that came with it.

My son and I have a whole bunch of these that we pick up from eBay whenever they pop up.

Probably a dozen or so between the two of us by now  Incredibly useful for all sorts of small tasks...

...unsteady spotting scope mounts, for the Labradar, the camcorder, the smartphone, and so many other things when you need them quickly, in a pinch...

Sad that the heads which superseded these are so much poorer in quality.

Can't see the advantage w/ the high cost if it only gives a single reading. I still just use the regular timers though at 120$+/- ea pop.

You guys let us know how it works out.

I was hoping to have the money for one around now but went a little overboard with Christmas presents. Maybe in March for my birthday, maybe it will be a few bucks less by then.

It would be nice if they had a little attachment with a clamp on it, it maybe handy clamping it to your shooting bench or your rest or other places.

Thinking of getting one for the pistol range.

While the rifles are privileged with an entire entourage complete with refreshments, the pistols only have a single caddy…

What does the battery condition indicator say?
It would not light up or do anything even when the charging cable was plugged in. I read online about recharging Garmin devices (In general) that had lost a charge
by plugging in the device, then holding down the on button for 30 seconds. So I go get it, plug it in, and it comes on without having to hold the on button for 30 seconds, shows low battery (5%) and charging. (Been inside for a couple of hours and warmed up?

It didn't do that earlier, but it was still cold from outside, might have affected that. I charged it fully the other day after I used it (At 48% when I plugged in it, 100%
when I disconnected it), and didn't do anything with it until this afternoon when I was going to test doing pistol velocities as well as get some numbers on 5 .380 rounds I loaded today.

Maybe I left it on accidentally? Dunno. Will keep an eye on it, and make certain it is turned off this time, even though I'm 99.99% sure it was off the last couple of days.

That behavior sounds like a TomTom GPS.

Sometimes, they suddenly appear “dead,” and would require a toothpick to depress a tiny reset button while pressing the power button for a few seconds while powered.

Then, the device would miraculously come to life.

Always had a toothpick in the vehicle since then, even though that particular GPS unit has since been retired

Worse GPS I ever had, it was a Xmas gift and was still mad someone spent money on it. Had 3 garmins over the years never a problem, still have one that's 12+ years old and still working.

I haven't played with it at all, shot that box of 50 .22 LR and called it good for the first day out.

I have failed you kind sir. :)
