Any guesses what Rugers new firearm will be?

Man, they would've had so much positive buzz (and orders) today had they announced an 1894 lever gun. 44 mag, 357 mag, 30-30 -- I would have been down for any of them.

http://www.shootingtimes.com/first-look/first-look-ruger-gunsite-scout-rifle-223-rem-5-56-nato/ Boo. The rifle few want, in a cartridge no Cooper "scout" devotee cares for. That's a big yawn compared to even the tamest speculation in this thread.

Could be the XGI from the 80s. I could go for basically a semi-auto scout in 308.

What rounds could we see crossing over between long gun and handgun?

460 lever needs to happen. If it could also reliably feed 45 Colt and 454, that's a winner. Of course it'd probably be way to expensive like that 500 lever. I'd like to see more revolvers in 45/70.

Scoped .357 mag revolver, yea or nay?

Yea. I'm a fan of scoped revolvers for hunting. Do yourself a favor and get a primos monopod shooting stick. No more wobble, and it works seated or standing. I prefer to rest my wrist in it rather than the barrel.

What do you consider to be the perfect "truck gun"?

I don't, but if I did, it wouldn't be a long gun. I'm more likely to need it for carjacking defense than wolf sniping, so handgun it is. Whatever double action revolver I could find a deal on would fit the bill.

Good cheap revolvers suitable for SD/HD

In that price range, a 20 gauge pump action shotgun like the H&R Pardner Pump would be a good bet for home defense, but of course that leaves out carry.

    Ruger SRH scoped-Need holster

Simply Rugged scoped holster + the Chesty Puller rig works well for me.

Chicago Fourth of July weekend toll: 82 shot, 14 Dead

" Those numbers are including officer shootings. More misleading numbers to push an agenda." Oh, please. Shot is shot; killed is killed. Their is nothing in that headline that touches on the legitimacy of these shootings one way or the other. The article clearly states the facts on the...

Chicago Fourth of July weekend toll: 82 shot, 14 Dead

What a mess! These events will absolutely be used as political fodder - by both sides of the aisle. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/chi-fourth-of-july-toll-82-shot-14-of-them-fatally-in-chicago-20140707,0,5439185.story

    Scoped Revolver: Talk to me.

I've got the 2x Leupold extended eye relief pistol scope on a Super Blackhawk Bisley Hunter. Target acquisition is not an issue with its wide field of view. I get no blackout in my natural stance, however friends with very short or long arms have a little difficulty. Whatever you do, don't...

    Modern inline muzzleloader load/scope question

Do I need the five inches of eye relief the Inline XR has, or is a standard 3.5 good enough?

    Modern inline muzzleloader load/scope question

I don't know if this is the right forum but it seemed closest. I'm looking at a Nikon Inline XR for my CVA Optima V2. The Nikon has a Bullet Drop Compensating reticule manufactured for .50 caliber muzzleloaders using a 150-grain Pyrodex charge (pellets or powder) and a 250-grain bullet...
