I got my upper yesterday. There was one slight 1/8" blemish on the outside surface just above the Forward Assist - it could be some form of deliberate mark but I suspect it is a blemish. Otherwise, it lined up perfectly with my Spike's Lower and everything else seems to be in the right place...

Once you become a Permanent Resident of the US and a Citizen of Washington (3 months) you can apply for a CPL. They removed the Alien Firearm Permit for Permanent Residents (aka Green Card Holders) this year. I had an Alien Firearm Permit and a CPL years ago when I only had an H1-B work visa...

Let's hope it makes it to law. The Conservative Party made this one of their campaign promises and I would like to see them deliver. Rural Canada has been dominated by dumb laws from the big cities for too long.

It depends on the kid. I'd trust my 6 year old daughter before I would trust my 12 year old nephew. I'm not sure I will ever trust that nephew. The last time I let him hold my AR I removed the guts. Sure enough the gun was pointed right at me and he denied it even when caught in the act.

Isn't going to depend upon the terrain. I live in mini-valley and the acoustics make it so on a quiet day (no wind) I can hear my neighbors (500 feet away) conversations very easily. I would think that in deep woods there would be lots of baffles to deflect the sound waves.

Gated driveway, dogs, good neighbors, good guns, and a "defensive" mindset. ;)
