There used to be the CS9. There are small double column DA/SA guns like the P99c or HK P30SK, but there doesn't appear to be any pistols made that are the equivalent of a snubby revolver in having a stiff enough trigger pull for optional pocket carry.

Or am I missing something with a DA/SA or DAO 9 pound trigger that is single stack?

It actually seems like the closest thing would be a G43 with a NY2 trigger. I've had two Kahrs, and I'd never handle them like I would revolver.

Yes, I'm safe. I just want a stiffer DA pull for handling safety.

Are you talking about something like the Beretta 83, 85 & 86?

If so they are easy to find.

Harder to find would be the Rohrbaugh. That is DAO, single stack, 9mm and it is small.

The Remington RM380 is one also.

KelTech PF-9, P-3AT?

You don't specify a caliber but I believe the RM380 and S&W Bodyguard both have fairly heavy DAO's.

EDIT: RM380 is 8-9lbs acclaimed and the Bodyguard is 8-10lbs acclaimed from what I have read.

I'm curious why you don't just go with a DAO revolver if you like them so much? Most of these semi's only offer 1-2 more rounds than a revolver anyway.

What's your beef with a LCR?

The Sig p-232 is a single stack DA/SA with a 10lb DA pull, the alloy frame is the lightest but it was still to heavy for me to pocket carry.

Beef? I like autos, and they are flatter. I also reload for 9mm, but LCR does come in 9. But a small revolver would be fine if nothing in an auto would work.

Thank you for the suggestions. I wasn't thinking of a blowback .380s, but those are great examples of what I asked for. The Rohrbaugh also fits, but they are expensive and really kick.

A CS9 would be almost perfect because it is smallish and light, but uses a locked breech to lower the 9mm recoil. Lower than a .38+P revolver or a many blowback .380s.

The Beretta .380s are fairly large. The idea was a MK9 sized gun with a heavier first shot trigger.

Thanks.

I don't have a single stack 9mm DAO pistol, but I do have single stack options to that. A Remington RM380 and a Glock 36 with an olive colored NY1 trigger spring. However, the G36 is no pocket gun IMO.

The Remington is a real deal DAO with the hammer at full rest until the trigger cocks and releases that hammer for each and every shot. The Glock is, of course, a pre-cocked striker gun. The Remington's trigger is similar to a snub nose revolver trigger, such as my 85UL shown below that has been modified to DAO. To be clear, the Remington has double strike capability if there is a misfire.

Charter Arms makes a 9mm revolver also.

I don't know which one you shot, but mine is not that bad at all in regards to recoil. Got a 15 year old nephew that likes it, he has zero issues with the recoil. Not any worse than any other 9mm that size.

The striker-fired Glock 42 is supposed to have a 5.5 lb. trigger, but mine was around 7 out of the box. Is that heavy enough for you?

The RM380 is a neat little gun. Of course, a Seecamp 380 is smaller.

You can also still find the alloy frame PPK clone FEG SMC-380.

I got smaller covered in a NAA Guardian .32ACP, which is of course basically a Seecamp.

The Seecamp/Guardian are blowback guns. The RM380 is a tilting barrel locked breech gun.

The RM380 is easier to shoot, more forgiving of a less than tight firing grip, and has less felt recoil.

Kahr PM9, CM9, & MK9.

The Kahr DA trigger is excellent for this application. It's long, but very smooth, crisp, and consistent.
