Is G2 RIP like a "buzz saw"?

Yes, in this case, incapacitation came about as quickly as one could reasonably hope for without a CNS hit. But consider that the hit was generally centered on the torso and did not have to traverse the torso at an oblique angle or pass through intervening limbs or other obstacles.

These ammo companies know there is a sucker born every minute & some people are impressed due to ignorance.
If RIP ammo were that effective, you'd see police officers carrying it.
Whenever a bullet is designed to break apart into pieces, each piece is much lighter in weight; therefore it loses energy & momentum & can't penetrate as far.

I reckon so, although it is hard to believe that such an outcome would result again even under identical conditions.

There is that. I'd (grudgingly) give credit to the round in this limited case (even considered in light of your's and others' test results), but I think that it has more to do with the fact that the BG was quite small.

Wait, wait. the way I read it, the skinny guy was shot in the back, right?

If he was running when hit, I wonder if that running 50 yards (probably exaggerated) could have been purely reflexive.

I've seen a couple of prairie dogs run for a couple of yards with their heads completely blown off, and many also continue running motions after they fell in similar circumstances.

Anyhow, WRT the OP's ammo, I automatically discount hyperbole generated from behind a salesman's desk.

I'd rather see it generated from behind a gun... as others have noted.

I see this stuff all over the gun shows for about the last 6 months and chuckle every time I hear the pitch as I walk by.

About the time it came out I ran across a guy in a shop I was working at that showed it to me and thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. He told me he was going to sell all his 9mm stocks to replace it with this ammo. I was happy to help him out by buying 3k rounds of 9mm ball dirt cheap. At the time everyone was happy, I don't know if he still is but my timing worked for me.

I think that when you start taking a circular saw to a block of ballistics gel just to see what happens, you officially have WWWWWWAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy too much time on your hands. Not that I'm complaining. The videos are very entertaining and (usually) informative. :D

LOL. When the gel gets too cloudy to see through I try to find imaginative ways to dispose of it. "Tests" that are too destructive to ruin good gel for, like blowing it up with tannerite. This was mainly just that.

This same guy sticks posts up all over the gun community every month or two. Apparently just a shill for the company. Mods should block these commercial advert posts.

Lol, every month or two? I post my videos twice a week. And I've been extremely critical of gimmick ammo in general and this ammo in particular. What's more, this video pokes fun at one of their more ridiculous claims. If I was shilling, I would be doing a very poor job of it.

If you watch all of his videos, you'll see that he's hardly a shill for anyone, especially in this case. I'd like to know who he was shilling for when he made the "plate" out of melted milk jugs or shot a bunch of keyboards. I'm still in negotiations with a local guy to pick up a bunch of old IBM terminal keyboards, the kind with the aluminum case that weigh somewhere around 10 lbs, to send to chopinbloc and see if they hold up better than the cheap plastic ones that he shot. :) I could do it myself, but he'll make a much better video out of it.

Any company that advertises that product x acts like a "buzzsaw" is not getting any of my cash. A "buzzsaw" has never performed very well for me... In fact, I have never, ever been able to successfully use a "buzzsaw". Sure has that "cool" look for marketing purposes though! Nice and pointy!
