I bought a Remington rolling block in 43 Spanish. Ordered 10 cases and 100 slugs and thought I'd just do some basic hand loading. I mean basic- like a couple homemade tools. Well, the cases mouth is .008 smaller than the slugs so I just ordered the Lee hand press, dies, extra shell holder, and case expander. I've reloaded for shotgun for 50 years, and about 10 years ago had a Dillion 550 for cowboy shooting that my wife talked me into. The CB crap is done and gone and so is the press - dumb move. Anyway, being a Remington fan this rolling block just interested me and looked like fun to shoot. Anyone out there that loads BP cartridge shells, what do you use for lube on the bullet ? I was thinking a pill of bees wax, paraffin, and olive oil under the bullet. I've got them made up for my .44 NMA cap and ball revolver. Or not if the bullet itself is lubed. Would the lube be different if I went to smokeless powder ? Any help would be appreciated.
