I had decided to buy this upper from Grendel Hunter for my 7 year old, turns our 6.5 grendels are easier to source than 6.8 spc. https://www.grendelhunter.com/product/18″-fluted-6-5-grendel-black-cerakote/#configuration

but today I got an email from PSA for their Black Friday deals for this one
https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa...-15-lightweight-m-lok-upper-with-bcg-ch3.html

I’m sure the Grendel hunter is “nicer” but for is it $300 nicer? Will I notice the niceness in how it shoots?
This is for a kids hunting rifle, and right now I’m really liking the $350 price tag on the PSA

A friend has the 16" BCA and has been very pleased, Vortex scope and ringing 3"steel at 200yrds, he also has the 24" stainless like mine with a FFP Vortex and wants to try it at longer distance, mine is not a lightweight but it is solid, I lapped the barrel and it needed very little. They put them on sale sometimes for around $200 with BCG, they come with standard flash hiders instead of a muzzle brake. I noticed if you like key mod handgrips they have a lightweight one, the mlok is heavy duty. It usually about 1week shipping

For the stated purpose I can't see how the Grendel Hunter would be even remotely worth $300 more to me. If you plan to scope it, putting even some of that savings toward better optics seems like a much better use.

Either choice, however, makes for one lucky kid.

Palmetto over Grendel hunter for sure. Bca is an option, but I'm out on a 20" barrel for a kids hunting rifle.
