Hello,

Let me know what you think. My local distributor has a bunch of S&W MP 45s for sale. Here is the deal.

These pistols are police turn ins from Valdosta Georgia. There are about 24 of them left. They all include 3 magazines and Trijicon night sights. Six of them also include include original boxes and all 3 grip back straps. The six in the box also appear to have been fired very little if at all. I say this because there are no rub marks on the barrels from the slide where you might expect them. Aso there is no visible wear on the grips and the night sights are clean and clear.

The pistols without boxes have these barrel rub marks, the grips are slightly worn and the night sights appear dirty.

So the asking price is $469 each, my choice. Of course I would choose a pistol with original box, and additional back straps. Should I bite? Would you bite?

Why not, especially because you get to pick what you want. Act fast, word will get out...

I have two of em.. love em both. Buy with confidence, especially if you are willing to pony up a few more bucks afterwards for an apex kit.

I've seen top competitors win national level matches with that exact gun, competing head-to-head against 1911 shooters...

Go for it!

Got the M&P today

Went back today and picked through them. I choose the one with the brightest tritium sights. It has almost no rub marks where the barrel meets the slide. It has just a faint of a holster mark in front of the rear sight, it may not even be from a holster. Otherwise this pistol is spotless. The sales person suspected it may be an unissued pistol.

It came with
~original serial numbered box
~all 3 grip backstraps with the smallest one installed
~3 ten round S&W mags
~Trijicon night sights
~original factory fired case dated March 2008
~magazine release safety
~lock, owners manual, warranty card

And I paid $430.00 cash

I wasnt even looking for a pistol like this, but I felt I had stumbled upon a heck of a deal.

PM me if interested, I will share the source. They still have a couple dozen with a good number having all accessories.

Apex trigger

Hey I did a little research on that, I guess the kit can be had for under $100 and there is no need for a gunsmith? Someone else somewhere described the factory trigger as long, heavy, and gritty and now that I have pulled the trigger a few times I have to agree. I do like that after firing, the trigger only has to travel a small distance before resetting.

Going to the range on Monday to give it a try.

And I paid $430.00 cash

That definitely counts as a score!

I had a fullsize M&P45 for several years and know it to be a very fine pistol.

Enjoy!

That was a great deal-the M&P45 (and 45c) is the best M&P that Smith makes. I just sold my 2009 M&P45 because of the crappy trigger (it's Mass. Compliant, has a 12 Lb trigger). I had purchased a 2010 model with newer style sites and an Apex trigger job, so I figured the old one had to go. It was highly accurate and reliable, even with crap reloads. I just hope the newer one is as good.

Funny, I just posted a review of the Dcaek I put in my m&p. Buy the kit of your choice and you will have a great pistol! The take up will be smooth and if you skip the trigger spring install on the dcaek kit you should end up w/ a 4# trigger pull. Install was easy and Randy from Apex Tactical has the install vids on YouTube.
