Been wanting a stock for my ROA like them fancy ones made for Remingtons and Colts. The way I figure it working is to remove a grip panel and create a stock that fits in its place. The only problem I see is that the wood that curves around the backstrap may be a bit too thin to handle the recoil of a heavy charge.

What I like about this idea is that I'd increase the usual length of pull to become something closer to what you get when you hold your pistol out so as to give you the normal sight picture you get with your sights and to keep that dadgum crap further from your face.

I also like the idea for one of those steel framed 12" barreled Remingtons.

What say y'all? Any reason this can't be done?

Isn't Toolslinger someone who has recently made a few wood grips that people liked?

There was a stock like you describe made for the Webley Mk VI.

It mounted by replacing the grips with brass castings in the shape of the original grips.

Since the ROA has a Peacemaker grip frame, why not try to adapt an 1851 Navy shoulder stock with a new-made longer butt?
