This explains a lot about the 22lr issues

Not my favorites either, but better than shooting with my fingers like when I was 5 years old.

This explains a lot about the 22lr issues

Remington announced this Summer that they will expand their ammunition plant in Lonoke, AR.

opinion about the PT709 slim, how dependable is it as a EDC?

I realize I'm late to the party, but maybe the next guy looking at buying a PT709 can benefit from all the input. I also own a 709 Slim that I bought LNIB for $230. I've probably put around 200 rounds of WWB target rounds through her with not a single issue. For a compact pistol, I like the...

    2 SA22 sweeties

Dan...the rifle on the bottom is a ZKM BRNO Model 611 in 22WMR. I believe they stopped making these sometime in the 1980s. I bought this one at an estate auction with the original box, factory test target and owner manual. Other than the factory test firing, I don't believe the rifle has been...

    Ruger 44 auto carbine

If you have a .308, do like I did and buy some of the German made plastic tipped practice ammo. With 7gr plastic bullets, there's virtually no recoil and they cost under 10 cents a round. Pretty accurate to 50yds. The kiddos love to shoot them at frogs from grandpas lever action .308.

    Ruger SR556 question

I've wondered the same thing myself. Promised the wife no new guns for a while. An upper is not a whole gun.

My First Hunting Rifle - What else do I need?

Andrew beat me to it. Get a nice shooting stick if you'll be shooting long distances out west and practice with it.

    2 SA22 sweeties

I have a grade 1 that's 22 short only. Very fun to shoot, and accurate. I'd go with the grade 2 for $475 if it were me. $100 ain't much more to pay in order to get the grade 2 in better condition. Here's mine, second from top of course. [/IMG]

    Most Accurate .22lr

I'll play. At what distance? At 25yds, my old Remington 510 Targetmaster will stack one shot on top of another. When my eyes were younger, I once put 10 shots in a dime size circle at 50yds just to prove to a skeptical friend what she'd do. Kind of comical really since the rear sight...

    Marlin 99 value?

Good question Mals. Those rear sights are hard to find and expensive IF you do. There are aftermarket peep sights that are actually better if non original is OK. I recently nearly bought same model in very nice shape, but missing rear sight, for $200. I'm a sucker for 22s.

Anyone Use A Rotary Gun Rack in Your Safe

CB900F....sorry if I came off like a wiseass, certainly not what I intended. Just trying to understand where you'd keep ammo if not in a safe. I've always kept mine in the safe, but I see your point. I have one of the lockable Snap-On storage cabinets upstairs that'd be large enough to hold the...

Anyone Use A Rotary Gun Rack in Your Safe

So do you store your ammo in watertight containers in a closet? Maybe I'll just store some of the larger hunting caliber ammo in the safe, 3 or 4 boxes of each caliber, and the bulk stuff in the in-laws guest room closet. A closet half full of ammo and the extra firm mattress should work to...

Anyone Use A Rotary Gun Rack in Your Safe

Pendelton makes a slick looking rotary safe that'd be great for use in a room corner, but it offers virtually no room to store ammo and it's out of my league cost wise. Too bad there are many dishonest people that we need gun safes. I'd much rather have a nice wood gun case that looks like a...

Did you ever buy ammo and accessories for a gun you don't own?

Kind of did. Bought 22 magnum ammo for a BRNO 611 that I'll hopefully never fire as I'm trying to keep in unfired condition. But it gets harder every year to leave her sitting unmolested in the back of the safe. Will NEVER again buy a NIB gun as an investment. :banghead: Like savanahsdad, I...

Gun safes/storage for an apartment with no elevator...

Ding ding ding. Those battery powered hand trucks like the Lectro are slick. One person can easily move a 1,000+ lb safe up or down a flight of stairs with one. They crawl up and down stairs with minimal effort on the part of the operator. If you're in a larger city you can probably rent one, or...

Anyone Use A Rotary Gun Rack in Your Safe

Waiting delivery of a new safe that's 6' high by 4' wide by 32" deep and I've been thinking about how I want arrange 80 rifles inside. ;) Hey, it says it'll hold 80 guns. Anyway, I've seen photos of some rotating rifle racks but they're $300 plus for nicer ones like this one. [/IMG]...

What is the last gun that you bought?

Oh, just today picked up an early 90's Winchester 1300. Shot a few clays and she seems to point nicely and shoot even better. I think this might be the start of a beautiful friendship.

What is the last gun that you bought?

Congrats. Heck the magazine is worth half what you paid for the rifle. If yours shoot like mine you're really gonna like it.

    Funny guy at the bank

With all the crooks they have working at BOA the hubby should have been keeping an eye on bank management instead of fellow customers.

    "Ideal Lever Rifle"

How about the Winchester Model 88 in .308? Compact design handles beautifully and is accurate. Downside is the mag only holds 5 rounds. Then again that's about all my shoulder will handle anyway. [/IMG]
