I’ve seen this. Was talked out of it at the local gun shop. Keep in mind I have zero knowledge of their modern line up. The local guys said they were not as good as they use to be. Just today the shop owner turned me on to a Nikon 1x4 Monarch 1x4 that is up for sale For 200 bucks. It was...
I am looking at a 1-4 power scope for Remington 700 in 35 Whelan. Have been using some no name Japanese’s scope that has a fantastic ability to drift zero and create all kinds of new 4 letter words. So time to look for a proper scope.
I have settled on a Leoupold 1-4. I have Leupold quick...
Last time I shot Skeet or Trap was in counts 30 years ago. However my rather liberal wife has express interest in getting into skeet and trapshooting. She does not mind shooting my browning SA-22 but most everything else is a no go for her. However she tried 4 rounds of skeet and loved. Did ok...
Well, I took a risk and bought a Leupold 2-7 Vari II Off eBay. If it worked it would be an A-. However the zoom does not……zoom. It’s stuck. The ring turns free with normal friction but there is zero diff in the sight picture. Even worse it it stuck on high magnification. But I think it...
Some of y’all probobly saw my last post about new Winchester 1885 low wall in 223. I noted a day or so ago that the scope mount will not sit flush on the barrel. There is a small gap. I pulled the mount. It’s straight as an arrow. Any thoughts?
I know the barrel is tapered. I would have...
Well everyone. It’s here. Picked it up today. And ran to the basement to dig through my spare scopes. Did not realize I had two gems sitting there. Though I had sold these off years ago. A Redfield 1-4 and a Burris Target turret 4-12 gloss that is mint. I went with the Redfield as it looks...
My only gripe about this rifle is that it does not have a front sight. Otherwise yes, I would do this in a heart beat. Looks great. If I really like the rifle may I’ll have New England Custom Guns work up a sight combo and a quick release scope mount. But My eyes are getting older.
I think we are on the same page. Sadly even most modern hunting rifles are going with a tactical or semi tactical look. The nice high dollar custom Mausers and such are all going with semi or full satin finishes. Thats that doing have older scopes.
I’m looking at a 2-7 Leupold on Ebay...
Do you have any pics of the full rifle? What kind of groups are you getting? I have been able to find little to nothing on the 223 versions. Really took a risk buying it. I really do not want to have to do a lot of work on it to rain it in. Last 45-70 I bought was pretty good. I only...
I would love one. But really dont want to go through the hassle of building the rifle around them. They require quite the set up. I also do not access to a machine shop anymore that will let me work on fire arms anymore.
Just bought this off GB. Looking for scope recommendations. Mostly going to be shooting groups or small game 200 yards or less. Was thinking a 1-4 power. I dont want anything tactical. Something that complements the rifle nicely. I do not see anyone really making polished scopes anymore...
This was from an advertisement on gunbroker.com. It’s not a Henry. I’m thinking CZ but hard to tell. Looks great. Scope mount is to bulky for me but over a good looking rifle.
thanks
Nate.

I am looking at them due to their clean nature. Their website is rather small and it’s hard to find much info on them or people who use them. The rifle is going to be my small ring Mauser. The scope is a Leupold VX 2 1-4 that is gloss to match the bluing...
I’m looking at a Leupold 1x4 vx2. It’s older but in great shape it looks like and gloss blue, which matches the guns finish. Any thoughts on the scope? I’ve never had a Leupold. Only cheap Amazon crap as I’ve never need a real scope till now as my eyes get older.
