The Jul 15 issue of Business Insider has an article on two organizations that have been reaching out to the Black community.
One is the formed in 2016, Black Guns Matter, founded by Maj Toure. Toure has appeared before Congressional Committees to debate gun ownership and has traveled the...
This is a load that Buffalo Bore is offering that claims velocities that I haven't heard of before from the 357 this side of fuzzy memories.
This is it:

A number of makers of holsters have noted the increase in sales of concealed carry holsters for women over the last few months. Possibly part of the Covid 19 general fallout.
It also looks like, finally, some clothing for women that allows for concealed carry is showing up. I mean clothing that...
I watched the Netflix film "Highwaymen" the other night. Pretty good. It's a movie with Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson playing Frank Hamer and his partner Maney Gault as they chase Bonnie and Clyde.
It doesn't glorify B&C which is a twist.
Good guns with not too much of the mishandling...
In October a new book appeared on the history of holsters in the 20th century. It is by well known holster maker R.E.D. Nichols and John Witty. It is likely the best work written on the development of the holster over the last century.
Here is a link to where you can get the book...
I like this story. It's about a woman in India who in her 60's took up shooting for self defense and fun. Turned out she could shoot. She wove through the maze of anti gun laws there. Won medals, formed a club in her city composed of young women. Still shooting at 84...
In another thread a useful discussion about Jeff Cooper's 4 basic rules is taking place. A couple of posters have suggested that the 4 rules are good but mainly for new comers to shooting. Some others that they are too simple or too strict or not clear enough. I thought of posting this in that...
Every once in a while there is an article in the capitalist press about shooters that ain't too bad. This is one of those. It deals with the group "The Pink Pistols". They have been around for a number of years beginning after the torture and murder of Matthew Sheppard in Wyoming back in 1998...
Well I ran across this which is the protest lodged by Glock with the GAO over the selection of the Sigs as the U.S. Army's sidearm.

And some initial discussion of it.

Ok I got an add from Ruger asking me if I wanted to buy a cap and a pin from them (among the usual other things) the cap has an emblem saying "Ruger 49".

What's Ruger 49 mean?

A small flap has broken out today as the head of the national Fraternal Order of Police called on Wal-Mart to cease selling on line T-shirts made and sold by "Old Glory Merchandising" which features BLM slogans "Black Lives Matter" and "Bulletproof"...
Did Glock ever offer a hard chromed slide on a Gen 2 G19 as a factory option? If so does it indicate this on the box or slide and how?
Gen 2 or 4, which do you prefer and why in a G19?

Maybe this was discussed before and I missed it but any ways...
NatGeo did a piece in late April on shooting water filled balloons with a 44 Magnum round.
Though they did not explain what bullet was fired there was no trickery to the test and you can see it here...
It never fails, whenever there is a thread about external safeties vs. no external safeties, or polymer frames vs. anything else, etc. it almost invariably comes down to a debate about 1911 pattern pistols vs. the Glock. Why is this?
(I'm using the term 1911s as shorthand for 1911 pattern guns...
I picked up a used G 23 from a friend the other week because I wanted to play with the .40 some. Had had it out to shoot the other day. Performed reliably. Accuracy was good with 180 gr. ball and OK with 165 gr. the ammo I had on hand. It's been over a decade that I've owned a Glock but wanted...
What have folks' experiences been with accuracy from the Shield? With different weight bullets? Some pics would be helpful, at 7 yards, 10 yards etc.
I had a S&W M&P9c and it's accuracy was inconsistent with different bullet weights. So I'm asking about the Shield.
Any experience would be...
A few of the latest techniques from the late 1950s an early 60s.
This film was originally done by the FBI and used by law enforcement around the U.S. Here we see the draw, trigger position, point shooting, the FBI crouch and more.
