Republic Reloading
When I do a web search, I find a few listings for firearm related websites with Republic in their names, but no Republic Reloading. Are you sure that's the right name?
The lowest I recall was .18/gal during a price war circa 1970 in SE Texas. Of course at that time I made all of $10K a year, so it wasn’t really as cheap as it sounds now, but it sure beat paying the regular price of .30/gal. The price of regular in my neighborhood dropped to $2.99 this week.
Do you really think it'll be worse being "monopolized" by Hodgdon than it was being "monopolized" by Vista or whatever they call their offshoot? I think it's a good move. ymmv
First off:
0.656 - 0.642 = 0.014, not 0.015
1.250 - 1.212 = 0.038, not 0.129
So, if the new bullet is .014" shorter than the old bullet and is seated to .038" shorter COL, the base of the new bullet is .024" deeper in the case than the old bullet.
Did you click on "Support" on the home page? If you do, a drop down list of options includes "Military VIP Program". I didn't pursue if further. Hope it helps.
I suggest your friend goes to this link and reads RCBS’s warranty for reloading presses so he won’t be disappointed if they don’t cover his press.

I’m not saying they won’t take care of him, they are good at replacing worn out parts and...
Do flat earthers call the atmosphere the atmoflat?
Whoever's in charge of popcorn, it's time for another batch.
Back on topic, I agree with others who say the Hornady gizmo, while it touts fixing misaligned bullets, is more useful as a setup tool to adjust/repair/replace whatever in your...
That works for me. When I'm range blasting, I load my pistol magazines with 5 rounds no matter how many they'll hold. My 5 round groups are better than my 10 round groups (duh!) and it makes me feel like I'm a better shot than I am. ;)
Can't argue with any of that, I just choose not to expend the time and effort to lube pistol brass other than with tumbling media additives that I mentioned earlier. I offered a different opinion than Jake's, but like I said earlier, it works for me and ymmv. Different strokes for different...
Definitely agree that age/physical/medical issues can make lubed brass (and/or store bought ammo) an attractive option, that's a different ball of wax from generic advice.
Most were professionals who manufactured and sold reloading dies and/or reloading manuals. True, their opinions were probably biased, but Like I said, it has worked for me. ymmv
The benefit to me is not dealing with case lube, unless you consider Flitz or Nufinish added to crushed walnut shells...
Advice from a professional. -Lube your pistol cases
I took advice from professionals a long time ago to buy carbide pistol dies and not lube. It has worked for me. Everyone who lubes agrees with you. Everyone who doesn't lube doesn't agree with you. Ford vs Chevy.
I can't imagine how some of you guys must agonize over shooting up a full 100 round box of reloads with a six shooter. What in the world do you do with the two empty chambers at the end of the session?
