With a few days and patience I slimmed the grip and shoulder stock, added a purpleheart grip cap, and did borderless stippling on forearm and grip. 4 coats of Tru-Oil finished it. Sometimes, beautiful wood hides under mass-produced stuff. Don.

Thank you. So am I understanding pretty well that 240 grain should be fine in my 1:38 twist Marlin? I cast my own and buy some cast SWC style slugs. They do well in my old large frame New Vaquero .44 magnum and 4 5/8 inch SBH .44 Magnum. Would like to have a go-to projectile for the three. And...
My 2002 stainless 1894 Marlin in .44 Magnum has a 1 in 38 rifling twist according to specifications I've read. The new Ruger-made 1894 rifling is, I believe, 1 in 20 inch twist rate rifling. Knowing the effort Ruger does put into gun features, I'm wondering if Ruger found a really good reason to...
2000 model Marlin ,44 Magnum. Crisp bore. Stunning excellent condition. Truly shot less than 300 rounds. Box, papers.
By the time the big reference books of values hit the market they seem outdated. The online auction sites don't list any I could find.
Thanks as always.
Thank you all for the replies and thoughts. I do believe I'll ask around among friends to test interest in taking home this handsome gun. Perhaps it would be just the ticket for someone. Don
Thank you very much. I had wondered about the T7 in a brass frame revolver but not yet seen specifics about T7 for this gun. I'd considered just selling this beautiful revolver locally, since it's a different caliber, cap size and I now see preferentially a different propellant from my own...
A friend at work maybe 12 years ago sold me this particular gun for $100, including a cheap leather holster that I gave to another friend (I make my own flap holsters). I have a couple beautiful stainless Ruger Old Army's and just never fired this pristine Pietta. Since it uses a different size...
Sometimes family wants to just sell simply and easily to a dealer and minimize complications. As an example, family with several guns from the estate of a deceased family member. Someone suggested guns.com as a newish method but I did not have any intelligent input. Anybody know of articles...
I've looked here and elsewhere without success. I know it's been a while since closure of the public comment acceptance by BATFE, and wonder progress toward a final decision.
A few links would be appreciated.
Thank you. Don
Hi. Mine is a .22 caliber. As an Old Fat Bald Man (proud of that self-titled label grin) with arthritic hands, the .22 is easier for me to load. My rifle has a very satisfying "pfft" sound too as it launches the .22 pellets downrange. This scope, at around $100 online, has a strong following as...
Sure loving my affordable Benjamin 392S here. Really happy it's pretty much the same basic gun as the 1980's. Baker scope mount, brass over travel, modified scope-clearing bolt and a UTG Bugbuster 3-9X optic. A real thumper with 14.3 grain RWS roundnose pellets at about 600 FPS. Shooting dime...
The bolt on the Benjamin 392S as it comes from the factory requires either a scout-type mount or a very high set of receiver mounts to clear most scopes. I like a receiver mount approach low to the bore. The solution I came up with is that I made a hardwood bending jig to capture the bolt handle...
