Update: pulled the five test rounds bullets and weighed each charge. They were all over the place. Weighed each three time to make sure of the charge weight for each round. The high side was 49.5 grains with the low side being 47.8 grains. The average for the five came out to 48.5 grains exactly...
So I moved a month after having a total knee replacement so there was a lot of things I couldn't do at the time, still can't for that matter, so my Mom and brother packed up everything for me. Now that I am able to start loading again I was getting everything unpacked and setup on my temporary...
Would an ex-brother-in-law work? J/K I'll probably fire the first round by remote just in case because of the steel cases. Now if I could just find some H4895 or BLC2 powder around here I could load up the other 95 bullets that will be left after this loading. I am down to 1 pound of H4350 that...
Thanks RC and and all the others that weighed in. I am going to make up 5 rounds (the 5 that I didn't have a clip for) and try them out as soon as I can get out and about better. Still somewhat recovering from the first total knee replacement surgery. Want to get as much shooting in I can before...
I pulled a bullet from a 7.62x54R surplus round. I weighed the powder and I am logging each rounds powder of the ones I pull to check to see if the powder levels are the same. I wanted to replace a few of the steel cored FMJ bullets with the soft point boat-tails I have, and I was wondering if...
It was sited and if you bothered to look where I posted it on my blog 4 years after it was updated you will see that when I copied and pasted it over I missed part of the post. You will also see it has not been updated since it was posted back in 2010. If you use your precious way back machine...
If they would pass a law that would send violent offenders to prison for life without the possibility of them getting out before they die, and not at theses "country clubs" of some of these so called prisons, but a life of hard labor I would be willing to bet the violent crime rate would drop...
I guess I will find out soon. I deprimed the rest of my 40 brass last night and still have to clean them up before starting to work up a load with these new bullets. Hurting too much to sit at the bench right now plus it is raining again so no testing today anyway.
The starting load for that grain bullet and powder in my manual is 49 grains not 46, so I would say it is too low of a charge. Max charge is 52 grains.
Sorry I am removing this article from this thread and my blog due to personal reasons. Please keep up your discussions on the pros and cons of gun control.
I have not used my auto disk yet so I don't know how consistent it is going to be with longshot powder. My so called "perfect" powder measure wouldn't throw two charges the same no matter what I did which is why I bought a new powder measure that I could afford. It is a headache to have to play...
Shoot no lol, I use it on my some of my moving parts on my guns. Been using gun slick on things since I was a boy. Used it on the axles on my pinewood derby cars in scouts. Made a big difference in my time and won me a few trophies too because of it but I would not use it inside of a hopper by...
