A friend flew here from Dallas and brought me 50 once fired 7mm Mag cases.
I tumbled them yesterday, resized them today and they are tumbling again before trimming, cleaning primer pockets, chamfering and deburring them.
I'll use some gmax 139s or Nosler 140 Bts.
I have some brass tumbling.
the .300 WinMags will get a 160 gr Hammer Hunter over 78.1 gr of RL23.
The 7mm can go 2 ways. Either 140gr Nosler BTs over IMR4350 or 139 gr Hdy Gmax seconds over 61.5 gr H4831.
The .06s will get 180gr Barnes TTSX over 47.6 gr I4064.
The Tikka T3x .300 did really...
Nice day to get out in SW Pa.
I ordered and got a custom dial for my Tikka mounted Leupold VX5HD.

I had to send in the G1 BC of my 160 gr Hammer Hunter bullets, the velocity at avg 3255, elevation and temp.
I put the old original dial in, shot close to...
Man. Great day to be at the range.
I had 8 different loadings for my Glock 20. 5 with 180 gr Hdy and 3 with 200 gr Nosler.
I only shot at 10 yards.

My gun goals are to sell off some of my rifles and maybe pistols.
The Norinco AK and Chicom SKS to start.
The Savage 111 FNS in .300 WM.
An older 7mm Rem 700 with VX3
At 73, I probly shouldn't have bought the Henry .44 or the G20.
Gotta sort the guns out and start downsizing.
Maybe ammo...
I'll go back and read most if these posts another time but I've shot more deer with my 760 (.06) than any other rifle.
As mentioned earlier, in Pa, the 760 7600 and 30-30s were and still are popular.
The longest shot I ever made on a deer ( 50 plus) has been 95 paces and that with an Ithaca 12...
Breechface.
Thank you. I feel blessed to still be able and have the desire to keep on keeping on.
Of my 3 buddies who offered help, one has a really bad shoulder and Afib.
The other is my age and his help would have been good but slow.
The youngster is 59 and he has helped me 2 years previously...
Well, Ive had a decent 3/4s of a hunting season although skunked throughout.
Early archery I passed on 2 small 8 points knowing I'd seen a 12, a big 8 and a nontypical possibly an 11 point with 2 triple brow tines.
Our old mans 3 day rifle doe season came and went with no shot presentations.
our...
I shot my National Ordnance 1903A3 parts gun yesterday.
Deer load is money at 100.
I tried a few loads with milsurp brass and got decent groups but POI was a few inches lower and left.
The FA36 brass and FN69 brass loads hit reasonably close but the commercial FC loads were the best.
I've prepared.
I'm in my tree as I type.
I got up here and set at 620 this morning.
My camera shows a nice 8 point stopped by at 607.
I can see my reticle point at just about 7AM.
Patiently waiting for his big 12. Pt brother although they are still mostly nocturnal.
I just had 2 boxes of 150 gr Hornady Interlocks #3031 delivered yesterday.
I was only going to get one box but free shipping over 49 bucks piqued my interest.
These are for my National Ordnance 1903A3.
These bullets printed sub minute at 200 yards so the old 1944 Remington 2 groove barrel...
I voted 180 yet use both 150s and 180s.
I just ordered 200 Hornady Interlocks i#3031 n 150.
I use these in my old parts gun. A National Ordnance 1903A3. I've only shot it to 200 yards but it came in sub minute.
I do not use the 180 Accubonds in my 06 but do use them in my .300 win mag. Elk...
I got to the range today.
Finished tweaking 3 scopes at 100 yards so, the 30-30, .44 mag, 760 pimp in .06,National Ordnance 1903A3, Tikka. 300 WM and Rem 700 in 7mm mag are all set.
Our early archery in the special regs area opens tomorrow.
I had my Ten Point FX4 fitted with a new cable and it...
Thank you Jim.
I forwarded the link to my friend.
It's his buddy that found this pistol stored away in his father's belongings after the father passed.
He relayed to me that there were no markings
but may not have known where to.look.
His mother never knew the dad had this gun so any history...
Gentlemen.
Does anyone have any idea where I could get info on this old pistol?
https://flic.kr/p/2nLMDAa
It's not mine but looking to find out some history and possibly worth for a friend.
No decernable markings.
Where would I start?
The owner passed. His son sent this pic to my friend...
One thing I forgot to mention which is always cool before hunting season is a new class of Hunter Ed students will get their certificates this weekend. If they pass their test.
I started helping instruct that class last year at age 71.
It's a little bit I can give back after taking a lot of...
Just getting into my backyard treestand for a few early morning hours each day. 20 feet up can let you watch a lot of wildlife. Squirrels and chippies are great entertainment.
Walking the woods in the 3 areas I usually hunt, finding trails, older rubs, scrapes and tracks.
Shooting all 6 of my...
Today, I checked my backyard permanent stand.
The lag bolts are all tight. One deck plank needs to be secured.
I put the burlap camo around part of it. This is mostly so the neighbors dont see me as easily.
https://flic.kr/p/2nJad3H
My ladder is secure and locked.
I put some hooks in place...
I don't believe I have a tremendous excess of hunting ammo / components but at age 72, I wonder how long I'll be able to continue.
If I can squeeze another 10 plus, that would be cool.
Now, I just loaded 50 rounds of 30-30 with enough stuff on the shelf to load at least a few hundred more. (...
