    Learning to shoot again.

I have glaucoma in my left eye which causes blind spots in that eye's vision. I have to move my head around to see the sights. I just shoot right handed. I am pretty much ambidextrous so this is not a problem. As suggested above, practice shooting with the weak side. You will benefit in the...

Can someone answer my SKS question??

I have always had great experiences with AIM when I had my C&R. My Chinese AKS rifles are the most accurate of my SKS rifles. These rifles are made for minute of man accuracy. Some are more accurate than others. They are fun rifles to take shooting. Their web site shows SKS rifles with...

Why are suggested loads in Hornady reloading book wimpier than factory loads.

^^^ I never said you can't have accuracy and velocity. I stated you should hand load for the "best" accuracy. My 243 is more accurate toward the upper end of the loading chart. Some others are not.....chris3

    Dr office search and seizure?

I get my health coverage through the VA. I have been asked by the doctor's assistant if I have an AR15. I replied no because I never really liked them when I shot a M16 in the air force in my great Vietnam adventure. Never been asked any gun stuff since. I am going to a new civilian doc this...

    Remington 700 trigger stuck

My Model 700 did just that. It had sit in the safe for 20 some years and the lube dried and stuck up the trigger assy. I just cleaned it up, relubed it and it works fine. If you want to decock your 700, making sure the rifle is unloaded, just open the bolt, pull the trigger and close the...

What is the life expectancy of a good quality action

The Blazer rifle comes to mind. I don't know who makes it now. They have switch barrels and a trigger to die for. Thompson Contender fall into this topic too. Some of my rifles are on their third generation of use. I have several pre 1900 rifles that shoot just fine. Any rifle will go bad...

Why are suggested loads in Hornady reloading book wimpier than factory loads.

You should be reloading ammo to achieve the best accuracy, not velocity. You aren't shooting in a horse shoe match here.....chris3

Best way to put a Hi-Viz warning on a gun? ("NO LEAD" on polygonal 300 BLK bbl)

If you can't remember not to shoot lead bullets out of your rifle, maybe you should look into another hobby. I have been shooting lead handloads out of my Glocks for 20 years with zero problems. Any problems that come about shooting lead bullets out of some pistols is because the owners hot...

Are there any official standards for close, medium, and long range?

The different ranges will become appearant when you can no longer hit the target at the ranges you are shooting at. If you determine that a different gun is needed to shoot further, practice comes into play....chris3

Always be careful when purchasing used guns!

If you have shot 600 or so rounds through the rifle, if the trigger did not seem right, why did you wait so long to get it looked at? Sounds like the new owner mucked around with the trigger to me.....chris3

Mosin vs Mauser Which would you choose?

Lets see......WW2.....Russians/Mosin Nagant 1...German/Mauser0 The main problem with the sticky Mosin Nagant bolts is the ammo. The green steel case lacquer coated ammo will always stick after a few rounds. Switch to the copper washed or brass cased ammo and the sticking problem will go...
